WELCOME TO VISUALIZING NEW YORK

Explore My Project

New York City, one of the largest and most dynamic cities in the world, is home to millions of residents with an extremely diverse economic backgrounds. As in many major urban areas, the city encompasses both extreme wealth and significant poverty. Crime remains a pressing issue for those who live and work in New York City. This assignment aims to explore and represent, through data visualization, the potential correlation between poverty and crime in the boroughs and more targeted areas of New York City. By examining these relationships, we can gain insights that may inform strategies to address both economic disparity and crime in the city.

Introduction to my Site

This website and infographic serve as powerful tools for data visualization, highlighting the comparison between the financial health and shooting rates of different areas in New York City. By analyzing this data, you can visualize the potential correlation between economic conditions and crime rates, particularly shootings, across various boroughs. This comparison is valuable because it can reveal how economic factors might influence crime rates.
